Melkelter Lady Of The Loch
We had waited a while for the ‘right’ female to arrive – I honestly think we took a few years off Gwen & Paul Phillips’ lives in that time but in June 2023, Gwen tentatively called to say that ‘she’ had arrived. We were so excited and could not wait to meet her. When it was safe to do so, we could not believe our luck, as Cara chose us!
Cara arrived into our lives like a wee whirlwind and very quickly settled into her new home. Our other cats accepted her into their lives without too much grumbling, she then quickly became the leader of the pack, with nothing phasing her!
The first cat show that she attended in October that year, just happened to be the largest GCCF cat show in the UK – The Supreme. She was up against slightly older Russian blue kittens so we were delighted when the judge (Mr Mark Pearman) awarded her 1st place & Best of Breed. This then entitled her to be judged for Section 4 Best of Variety Kitten – in her first show – which she took in her stride. The winner went on to win Overall Supreme Exhibit!
Her show career continued over the next show season and she gained her GCCF Champion title at The Lakeland show in June 2024. A huge thank you to Di Brown, Lynda Ashmore & Sally Tokens, who all thought highly enough of Cara, to award her Challenge Certificates.
